Prior to joining NRP in 2009 as a Junior Broker, Sherman was a multi-unit owner/operator in the Dairy Queen franchise system. He also served the DQ brand in many market & regional leadership positions – marketing & promotion, menu management, product development, supply chain & operational efficiencies.

For 15+ years he leveraged his reputation as a fair & honest broker to bridge the gap between multiple agendas within the 6,000+ units of the Dairy Queen franchise system. This was during a period when the DQ system saw historic YOY gains in system-wide revenue & profitability.

In 2017, he left Charlotte to develop our Greenville, SC market from scratch. His vision for developing an NRP market was decidedly different to our traditional model – less transaction-oriented with a heavier emphasis on a more advisory approach.

Sherman believed that our model of “getting them in the business vs getting them out of the business” wasn’t as essential as “keeping them in business.” His vision was to use our brand and its resources to create more industry leaders and “winners.”

In 2020, he launched Bread N Butter Restaurant Strategies – which would later become the “sister brand” of NRP – and focus on being an advocate and resource for the F&B industry.

Over the course of 2020 & 2021, Sherman acquired the NRP Charlotte office & the brand from our founding family – and set out to rebrand and retool our thriving company for a new generation of F&B operators.

Helping identify those 1-3 things, but also helping them realize what ingredients are missing in their skill set – and watching the magic happen when we finally start.
